Wires is the second single taken from Final Coil's third album, The World We Inherited. Speaking about the video, singer / guitarist Phil Stiles explains: "The idea behind the song, with its repetitive refrain, was to focus on the horrifying belief that something is indeed alive within you. It's a primal dread that Morgellons taps into, and I felt the lyric should reflect that. While I am not, in any way, linking GMOs to Morgellons, the emergence of monocultures certainly is concerning, and the concept - often poorly understood - helps to fuel the fires of those who believe there is an overarching global conspiracy in play."
